- Farm estate Kerschlach is a modern organic farm specializing in the production and marketing of ecological dietary staples. Four new courtyards were formed, dividing the estate into private and public areas. The “estate house” is extremely naturally integrated into the complex and is by no means dominating. Rainer Hoffmann assumed the project management for Zeeh Bahls & Partner Design as a freelance architect. In this position he was responsible for the approval planning, execution planning and construction management of the estate house building, farm and conference buildings, as well as the artistic direction for the entire ensemble. Estate house: an introverted residential house. The structure is divided into a living area and a private swimming pool. The interior is high quality and meets the needs of the residents in every detail. A row of windows runs along the entire ridge as well as the gable front, bringing direct daylight into the interior. The farm building houses the bakery, dairy, administration, picking and farm shop. Herrmansdorfer Werkstätten currently operates the farm and conducts the marketing. The so-called small castle houses a “one-pillar hall” stemming for the fifteenth century. During the course of the reconstruction, the building was completely gutted, with the exception of the vaulted rooms. The conversion allowed for the development of a conference room in the former attic. The vaulted rooms house the catering for the conference area. The deep dark red and large wooden slat surfaces have become the trademark for the farm estate Kerschlach.
